Slaven Bilic’s shoes probably aren’t feeling too comfortable right now – maybe its worth someone else trying them on?
Football Manager is the game to try it all, it is the game that takes days out of people’s lives and it is great. This year might be the strongest West Ham have been on the game, with a good, balanced squad and the prospect of Europa League football at the start of a save to help attract those slightly better players.
A budget of under £10million may seem insufficient, however. It isn’t a great deal of money and will require some shopping around to get a viable first teamer with, but there are ways to find good value in the market.
If you want to boost that, of course, you can always try to move on some of the elder or less talented members of your squad, too. So, without further ado here are five of the best value deals…
Santi Mina
Able to play anywhere across West Ham’s front three, the superbly talented young Valencia forward is well worth the potential cost.
Considering his world class potential, and the fact he can already slot into the Hammers’ first team, there is great value for money to be had with Mina.
Simone Zaza and Andy Carroll provide only limited options in the No.9 role, but Mina could even play alongside one of the two.
Anwar El Ghazi
Like Santi Mina, versatility is what makes Anwar El Ghazi such an handy player to have around.
Potentially available for as little as £10million, El Ghazi has immensely high potential and will quickly attract interest from some of the world’s biggest clubs.
His work-rate can hold him back, unfortunately, but his rounded game more than compensates for that.
Danilo D’Ambrosio
Given the weaknesses of West Ham’s backup full-backs, Danilo D’Ambrosio’s ability to play comfortably at both left and right-back makes him a very appealing option.
Unlikely to improve, however, D’Ambrosio is only really a short-term solution to the full-back issue.
Ravel Morrison
Okay, so this isn’t the most sensible suggested signing of all time. But, let’s face it, sensible is kind of boring.
Ravel Morrison’s return to West Ham on Football Manager is something you really should make happen.
Lazio don’t mind selling him and, even with all the attacking talent at your disposal, you can’t have too much flair.
Lassana Diarra
With depth so vital in a Europa League campaign, signing a player like Lassana Diarra can only be a positive.
He might not be a starter in the strongest possible XI, but Diarra is a player with versatility and strong mental attributes that make him a handy squad member.
